125th Anniversary Celebration at Linwood Public Charter School
Linwood Public Charter School celebrated the 125th Anniversary of SABIS® in a “Grand Style-Red Carpet Gala Affair” on Friday, October 15th, 2010.
Theme: “A Year To Remember :Our History In The Making”
The event took place during Student Life and it was a true crowd pleaser. Students joined in the celebration in various ways: speeches, artistic dance and stepping. A video showing SABIS® schools around the world continuously looped on a projector screen as a couple of students read the history of SABIS®.
The red carpet was rolled out, literally, for all to enjoy. The gymnasium was transformed into a beautiful ballroom hall fit for any formal occasion and the students, teachers, staff and parents of LPCS was dressed for the upscale event. As each student entered into the gym on the red carpet, they posed for a red carpet photo. The gym was adorned with round tables, dressed with white linen clothes and dramatic bold centerpieces. A large painting of the trunk of the SABIS® tree hung on the wall. Students individually attached the leaves to complete the tree, each leaf noted with well wishes from the students. “LPCS is a school that is preparing you for the future and is full of great expectations,” stated 8th grader Destini Jackson.
Cake and punch was served for the celebration. Everyone in attendance was excited and thrilled to take part in our glamorous, star-studded 125th Anniversary celebration.
